Beach cleanup will happen this Saturday at San Gregorio State Beach despite the algae bloom in the lagoon. There is safe passage around the water but caution is advised. There is plenty of trash to collect around the parking area, picnic area, the bluffs, and I'm sure on the beach as well.
Bring your own bucket, gloves, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and dress in layers. Could be misty, could be sunny! We'll have buckets, bags and gloves as well, but we encourage re-useable supplies. Parking is free for cleanup volunteers. Come see us at our booth for a parking pass.
Though this event is sponsored by the San Gregorio Environmental Resource Center, please give big thanks to the folks at State Beaches who waive the parking fee and help dispose of the trash and recyclables we collect at these events.
Also put September 17th on your calendar which is the annual Coastal Cleanup Day. We look forward to seeing you at the beach!!
